Truth the mainstream media doesn't tell you about
“A government big enough to give you everything you want, is big enough to take away everything you have.”
Although I can't remember who said this, I remember I liked what they said. The said: "There are only two rules in a free society; "Mind your own business and keep your hands to yourself." I believe if these were more closely adhered to, there would be a lot less trouble for the individual.
Thank you Margaret!
I thought it might be nice to add one other quote from the Founding Fathers that should be considered as valid today as when he first said it.
"Be not intimidated...
nor suffer yourselves to be wheedled out of your liberties
by any pretense of politeness, delicacy, or decency.
These, as they are often used, are but three different names
for hypocrisy, chicanery and cowardice." -John Adams-
Amendment II ~ A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS, SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.
A few words from the men who founded our great country pertaining to the Militia and the 2nd Amendment:
"I ask sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people except for a few politicians." - George Mason (father of the Bill of Rights).
"The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops." - Noah Webster.
"A militia, when properly formed, are in fact the people themselves... and include all men capable of bearing arms." - Richard Henry Lee.
"A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government." - George Washington.
"The Constitution of most of our states (and of the United States) assert that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed." - Thomas Jefferson.
And for those who wonder if the Second Amendment recognizes our individual right to own and carry any weapon such as AR-15 rifles or 30 round magazines:
"Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man against his own bosom? Congress [critters] have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, ARE THE BIRTHRIGHT OF AN AMERICAN...The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people." ---Tenche Coxe.
